The X-Base Tweed Slipper Chair is an upright armless chair in a flecked cream weave, set on two pairs of solid timber legs that cross beneath the seat in an X. The seat is a firm, square upholstered block with self piping along its edges; the back is a tall, slightly reclined panel with the same piped finish.
The crossed legs give the chair a light, graphic silhouette from the side and a wide footprint that keeps it steady on uneven floors.
About the fabric. The flecked weave hides everyday marks well, which helps a light colour last longer in service. We can make it in pure wool, wool blends or recycled-content polyester tweeds rated for commercial use, and we keep the cover pattern so replacement covers fit.
Construction. Hardwood and plywood body frame, foam over webbing, solid timber X legs joined with a half-lap and bolted up to the frame. The legs can be unbolted for re-upholstery or flat shipping.
Where it works. Hotel bedrooms and lobbies, lounge areas in restaurants, and as an accent chair at the end of a booth run.
Options. Fabric, leg stain and seat height.
