Contrast does the work in this set: a crisp graphic back above a dark seat, and a pale stone-look top on a dark-and-brass base.
The booths have a walnut frame with a dark brown leather seat and a back panel in either a black-and-white curved graphic or a green tropical leaf print. They are used as wall runs and back-to-back in open seating. Tables have a white sintered-stone top with a walnut edge on a black pedestal finished with a brass foot collar. Round tables and cane-back chairs with leaf-print seats complete the room for groups.
About sintered stone. It is a dense, non-porous surface that resists heat, staining and scratching, which suits rooms serving hot pots, sauces and oils. We describe it accurately as sintered stone, not marble.
Re-covering. Back panels and seat cushions are separate parts, so a graphic print can later be replaced with a quieter fabric without new frames.
