This system separates the booth into a seat box and a back. The seat box, plinth and seat cushion are identical across the range; only the back changes, in three heights of 85, 110 and 135 cm. Backs bolt to the seat box behind brass caps.
This has practical consequences for the life of a room. Lower backs can be used where you want an open room and higher backs where you want privacy, all from one seat box. If you later change the layout, for example turning an open café into a dining room with private bays, you replace the backs, not the seats. Spare parts are simpler too: one seat cushion size serves the whole room.
Brass capping strips on each back height create a stepped profile when different heights sit side by side. Seat boxes are hardwood and plywood with a timber plinth.
