The Pure Wool Booth is upholstered in a dense woven wool with a short pile that catches the light, in a natural white with scattered undyed darker fibres. Wool is one of the most practical natural upholstery fibres: it is harder to ignite than most textiles because of its moisture and nitrogen content, it tends to char rather than melt, and it resists soiling.
We specify this booth with an uncoated wool cloth where the fire requirement allows. Many wool fabrics pass cigarette and match ignition tests untreated; for stricter tests such as BS 5852 crib 5, required for UK contract seating at medium hazard, the result depends on the full composite, so we may add a fire-barrier interliner beneath the wool rather than a chemical coating on it. We confirm the route for your market before production.
The booth itself follows our standard frame with a brass capping rail and timber plinth. Covers can be specified zip-off so the wool can be cleaned or replaced separately.
